Erneut wurde für die laufende Beta von Counter-Strike: Source ein Update released, das wie immer automatisch heruntergeladen und installiert wird.

Das Update betrifft vorerst nur die Betaversion von CSS.
Die Hardware-Umfrage durch das Steam-Tool ist abgeschlossen und die Ergebnisse des Monats Juli sind nun online.
Steam sammelt nun schon seit längerer Zeit Daten der Nutzer, die in erster Linie ein Bild über die verwendete Hardware der Spieler ermöglichen. Diese Daten werden in Statistiken aufbereitet, um zukünftig die eigenen Produkte und Service-Angebote zu verbessern.
Neuerdings wird aber nicht nur die Hardware, sondern auch die installierte Software der PCs ausgelesen. Damit werden die heimischen Rechner noch transparenter und die Frage nach dem Datenschutz noch relevanter, daher sollte sich jeder darüber im Klaren sein, welche Informationen er preisgeben will. Die Teilnahme an der Umfrage ist optional und bringt dem Einzelnen keine Vor- oder Nachteile.
